According to investigations, during the Inca period the wall formed part of the route of the Capac Ñari, or Royal Path, which led from the imperial city towards Contisuyo, one of the four regions of Tahuantinsuyo. This is substantiated because the discovered structure continues along the same line towards another important Inca wall of similar characteristics which covers four straight blocks of Santa Clara Road, and which, according to historical references, marked the royal path to the Contisuyo. |
