| Record numbers
of tourists |
| The summer
season in the Southern peninsula
started with good perspectives,
with expectations for Argentina,
Brasil, Chile and Uruguay to
receive a record amount of local
and foreign tourists. In Argentina,
the resorts of the Atlantic
Coast, with Mar del Plata in
the lead, await a season which
will exceed the activity of
the 20.2 million tourists received
during the past summer throughout
the whole country. For 2008,
Uruguay expects a record increase
in Brazilian tourists and a
marked increase in Argentinians.
Chile foresees that during January-March
of 2008, 700,000 foreign tourists
will visit the country. |

a record number of visitors |
| Buenos Aires
closed 2007 with 2.3 million
foreign visitors, 40% from neighboring
countries, but also with a strong
presence of Europeans (22.5%)
and the rest of America (27%). |
| Austral will fly
to Chile and Air Comet Chile to
Argentina |
| Air Comet Chile
requested authorization to fly
to Buenos Aires, in so far as
Austral already has the approval
to fly to Santiago of Chile. Both
companies could begin flights
in March. |

authorized to land |
| Sky Airline informed
that it already has the authorization
to go to Argentina and that the
destinations will be Buenos Aires,
Cordoba and Mendoza. It also added
that they are already flying to
Arequipa, Peru and now they are
aiming at Lima. |

| Tourism recovering |
| The Ministry
of Tourism published official
figures on the amount of tourists
who visited the country in 2007,
which reflect a 2% increase
with respect to 2006. Said activity
brought in US$ 800 million during
2007. |
| Treaty with Japan |
| The Ministry of
Tourism and the Institute for
Japanese Cooperation signed a
treaty. It is the second stage
of the Uruguay-Japan project,
which seeks to promote the arrival
of Japanese tourists to Brasil,
Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay.
They will work on of the arrival
of an airline from Japan and the
completion of a tourist package.
The Ambassador of Japan suggested
the possibility that Japan airlines
arrive at San Pablo and Montevideo. |

fewer taxes for hotels |
| The government
published the Provisional Decree
413 that foresees an acceleration
in the depreciation of consumer
goods. With this measure, hotels
will pay less income tax. |
| Beginning of shared
code agreement with LAN Peru |
| Recently, TAM
and LAN Peru began the implementation
of their shared code agreement,
which will permit TAM passengers
to connect with LAN Peru flights
to different destinations within
Peru, as well as for LAN Peru
passengers to fly to different
Brasilian cities that are part
of the TAM network. |

the Radisson begins |
| The construction
of the Radisson Maceió
hotel of Atlantica Hotels International,
which will have 195 rooms, has
begun. The establishment will
become functional in 18 months. |

new routes |
The general
manager of Air Comet Chile and
Aerolineas Argentinas announced
the route to Puerto Natales
as well as to Arica and the
aim of arriving at Easter Island.
Furthermore, they are studying
Osorno and Copiapo to begin

LAB continues
to operate charter flights while
it awaits the renewal of its
Commercial Certificate to renew
flights with a regular itinerary. |
| BoA will begin
operations in April |
| Boliviana de Aviacion
(BoA) will begin its operations
at the end of April. At first
it will cover local routes, mainly
on the principal routes and later
the secondary ones will be served.
In the long term, BoA will begin
to fly the international routes
that are no longer covered by
LAB, such as Madrid, Miami, Colorado,
Argentina, Chile and Brasil. |

that entered the country increases
by 8.9% |
| The number
of foreigners that entered the
country in November 2007, amounted
to 182,806 people, which is
8.9% superior to that registered
in the same month in 2006. The
foreigners that entered during
that month mainly came from
Chile (31.4%), the United States
(19.4%), Ecuador (9.9%), Spain
(7.2%), Argentina (4.9%), and
Bolivia (4.5%), among others. |
| LAN Peru will
arrive in Brasilian cities |
| The passengers
of LAN Peru will be able to arrive
at Bahia, Fortaleza, Recife, Florianapolis
and Iguazu thanks to the shared
code agreement with TAM that will
soon be put into practice. The
passengers of TAM will be able
to fly to Cuzco and Arequipa,
with more of the country’s
cities included at a later date. |
| Clabe Andina would
construct four 5-star hotels |
| The group evaluates
the construction of four five-star
hotels in the next four years,
after having consolidated its
first hotel Sumaq Macchpicchu
in Aguas Calientes. The possible
projects would be located in the
Urubamba Valley, Cusco, Arequipa
and Puno. |

event, Ecuador Travel Mart 2008,

from April 19th to the 22nd.
The fair will bring together

operators from the main markets
of the five continents for the
commercialization of the touristic

| Fifth most attractive
country of Latin America in 2010 |
The Minister
of Commerce, Industry and Tourism
said that in 2010 Colombia will
be the fifth most touristic
country of Latin America, increasing
the number of international
tourists to 4 million and generating
a great impact in the GDP (Gross
Domestic Product), because of
the 100% increase in the actual
level of income for this concept. |

of foreign tourists increased
by 13% in 2007 |
| According to the
statistics of Civil Aviation,
the Colombian air sector had a
good year in 2007, with increases
in the transport of local and
foreign tourists. The increase
in the transport of foreigners
was of 13% and of 8% in local
transport. |

Santa Ana de Cartago Airport |
| The airline inaugurated
the Bogota-Cartago-Bogota route.
After six years without passenger
transport, the Santa Ana de Cartago
Airport reopens its doors to locals

air transport to this city. It
is expected that 7,730 passengers
will use the airport in this first
