| HILTON Expansion
plans |
| In April,
the chain will inaugurate the
Hilton Princess San Pedro Sula
in Honduras and the Hilton Princess
Managua in Nicaragua. This completes
an agreement to convert three
properties that began with the
Hilton Princess San Salvador
in 2004. In 2007, Hilton announced
its plans to inaugurate a hotel
in Ushuaia, Argentina and this
year will open a new 5-star
resort in Puerto Iguazu. |

| Domestic airfares
could increase up to 40% |
| The Government
would assess a considerable
increase in the cost of airfare
in order to compensate a sector
which lost profitability due
to labor and fuel costs, among
other items. Increases of between
30 and 40% have been mentioned.
The increase would form part
of a package of measures which
would also include a subsidy
for aircraft fuel. |
Bird sighting
in Rio Negro |
The Ministry
of Tourism of the Rio Negro
province has just launched a
new touristic project related
to bird sighting. The ecosystem
surrounding Rio Negro is the
habitat of some 200 bird species
that can be observed along the
almost 800 kilometers that covers
this expansion of water, from
west to east in the northern
part of the province. |

Renaissance leave Costa de Sauipe |
| As of June
1st, the hotel operator SHR
(Sauipe Hotels & Resorts),
administrator of the complex,
will take over the management
of the Costa do Sauipe Marriott
Resort & Spa and Renaissance
Costa do Sauipe Resort hotels,
which will be known respectively
as Costa do Sauipe Golf &
Spa and Costa do Sauipe All-Inclusive
Resort. |

will launch new airline |
| The founder of
JetBlue Airways, United States,
announced plans to launch a new
low-cost airline. It will begin
to fly with a fleet of three aircraft
at the beginning of 2009 with
reduced prices, and will use a
point to point structure which
transports passengers from one
city to another without stopovers. |
| Delta Airlines
will have extra flights from June
to August |
| From June 15th
to August 15th, Delta will have
extra flights from Brasil to the
United States, adding one additional
daily flight between Sao Paulo

new direct flight from Rome could

| The National
Institute of Natural Resources
(Inrena) estimated that the
country has more than 25 protected
natural areas with touristic
development potential, covering
an area of 7.2 million national
hectares. There are approximately
63 protected areas in the country
which correspond to 18,43,379
hectares, representing 14.04%
of national territory. Cusco
and Madre de Dios have 70% of
the existing potential areas
in the country. |

| Andean Railways
informed that it is ready to begin
its operations and compete on
the railway line to Machupicchu,

with the current concessionaire
of the route, Ferrocarril Trasandino,

conditions of its access to the
line. |

five-star hotel in Arequipa |
| The hotel chain
Casa Andina inaugurated its fifth
five-star hotel with the Casa
Andina Private Collection brand,
in the former Casa de la Moneda,
with an approximate investment
of US$ 6 million. The hotel has
41 rooms, 5 of which are suites,
as well as 38 higher level rooms.
It has two colonial patios, a
gourmet restaurant, an elevator,
air conditioning, heating and
shortly a site museum where some
pieces found during the excavations
will be exhibited. |

allocated to bi-national route

The Minister
of Tourism of Ecuador affirmed
that US$ 13 million have been
allocated for the development
of a touristic route with Peru;
this will be known as “La
Ruta del Espondilo” whose
goal is to generate income for

The Accor group
announced an expansion plan
in Mexico, where it now has
6 hotels and 5 more under construction,
aiming to reach 60 by 2012. |

more than US$ 600 million |
| Barcelo will invest
US$ 600 million in the next two
years in the hopes of increasing
the amount of hotel rooms in different
touristic destinations in the
country. The goal is to increase
the number of rooms from 5,350
to 10,000. To do this, it is negotiating
the purchase of two hotels in
Cancun and two in Playa del Carmen. |

| Maria La Gorda
becomes a diving destination |
| The Cuban beach
of Maria la Gorda became a diving
destination after the approval
of an extension project of 100
new hotel rooms which will be
added to the 54 existing rooms.
This will enable the arrival of
a larger amount of visitors, whether
they are tourists or scientists.
Recently, visitors have arrived
by road and boats bringing about
the construction of a marina to
service the new navigation route
to Cuba’s most western peninsula. |
