| LAN Argentina
and LAN Ecuador enter into Oneworld |
| Oneworld confirmed
that starting from April 1st LAN
Argentina and LAN Ecuador will
be new members of the alliance.
Both companies will be incorporated
to Oneworld on the same day that
Japan Airlines (JAL), Malev Hungarian
Airlines and Royal Jordanian Airlines. |

Aerolineas will add more aircrafts
during this year |
|
Accor
started to build two hotels |
| Aerolineas
Argentinas will add seven B-737/500
aircrafts to its fleet. According
to the plan for this year, the
group will complete the Austral’s
fleet of 22 MDs this year (nowadays
it has 20 aircrafts). For March
and May, the group also plans
to add two A310 aircrafts to Aerolineas,
as well as a fifth A340 aircraft
-an A340/300 model-. |
Accor started
to build a 12-floor facility.
These hotels will include rooms,
halls and conference rooms, spa,
pool, gym and two parking basements.
The project will include a four-star
hotel (Novotel) and a three-star
hotel (Ibis). |

| TAM and LAN consider
to purchase Varig |
| TAM and LAN are
considering to launch a joint
bid to buy the Brazilian airline
Varig. In the next days, the executive
president of TAM will travel to
Chile in order to talk about the
plan. |
| TAM wants to close
the year with 109 aircrafts |
| TAM added a sixth
aircraft to its fleet: an Airbus
A320. With this, the airline has
now 99 aircrafts. For 2010, TAM
plans to have a fleet of 132 aircraft. |
| Brasil National
Tourist Mart |
| The XVI Brasil
National Tourist Mart will be
held in the Pernambuco Convention
Center from March 21st to March
24th. For this edition, the event,
considered as the main Tourism
Exchange of Brasil, expects more
than 300 international operators
and 288 Brazilian vendors, especially
those located in the northeast
of the country. |
| Varig may lose
flights to Europe |
| Varig is at risk
of interrupting, at least temporarily,
its single operation in Europe:
Frankfurt. The two MD11 aircrafts
used in the Rio de Janeiro-San
Pablo-Frankfurt route should be
returned to the company responsible
of the leasing on March 30 and
April 30. Although the substitution
of the aircrafts has not been
determined yet, the company is
still selling tickets. |

for American citizens will come
into force at the end of March
|
| The demand of
visa to American citizens who
want to travel to Bolivia will
possibly come into force at the
end of March, the Bolivian chancellor
declared. |
| Laguna Pampalarama,
new tourist attraction of La Paz |
| Located at the
shores of the Real mountain range,
close to the Charquini and Willamankilisani
snowed-peaks, the Pampalarama
Lake is the new natural tourist
attraction of La Paz. It is located
at 4,486 meters above the sea
level and 20 kilometers to the
north of the city, in the rural
district of Hampaturi. In the
wintertime, the place is suitable
for winter sports, and in the
summertime, the richness and the
landscape created by the vegetation,
show a great variety of colors
and combinations. |

Tourism Fair |
| The XI International
Tourism Fair will be held in Cochabamba
from March 14th to March 17th.
The objective is to promote and
market the tourist attractions
of this country, taking advantage
of the participation of international
operators, who will look for new
alternatives of tourist packages.

Inca Trail reopened |
|
Taca
will inaugurate a route to Santo
Domingo in April |
| The
passage through the Inca Trail
to Macchu Picchu was reopened
after a month of restoration,
conservation, cleaning and adaptation
works of the road and camping
network. The cleaning and maintenance
works were performed along approximately
40 kilometers of the Inca Trail
and in Piscacucho, Cusichaca,
Jatunchaca, Huayllabamba, Llulluchapampa,
Ayapata, Pacaymayo Alto, Chaquicocha,
Phuyupatamarca and Wiñaywayna
camps. |
Starting from
April 15th, Taca will inaugurate
a new route to Santo Domingo,
via San Jose, with three weekly
flights. Likewise, the airline
will add nine weekly flights from
Lima to El Salvador and ten from
Lima to San Jose with connections
to Mexico, Los Angeles, Miami,
New York, Washington and San Francisco.
From Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela,
passengers will also be able to
travel to Santo Domingo, via San
Jose, with four weekly flights. |

in 30% and only offer
tourist packages. This
increase is evident in
hotels, hostels and hospices.
Likewise, special accommodation
packages are still being
offered. These packages

Costa Rica the construction of
a hotel that will be the first
Holiday Inn Express hotel in the
Central American region. The hotel,
which will be named Holiday Inn
Express San Jose – Forum,
will be the third hotel of the
group in the country. |

for votes to be elected as a New
Wonder of the World |
| Mexico promoted
in the BIT of Milan the initiative
“Vote for Chichen Itza”,
which is aimed at positioning
this archeological site, located
in the State of Yucatan, as one
of the New 7 Wonders of the Modern
World. This promotion will be
repeated in the ITB of Berlin.
In order to obtain the nomination,
Chichen Itza will have to come
up against the Inca ruins of Macchu
Picchu in Peru. |

a commercial cooperation agreement
by which both airlines will increase
