186% in 2006 |
| GOL’s
profits registered last year
a growth of 186% in the destinations
operated in Argentina, reaching
US$ 217 million. "Argentina
is growing at similar rates
than China", declared the
Marketing and Services Vice
President of GOL. |

leaves the country in June |
| United Airlines
will stop operations in the country
after 15 years due to “economic
reasons”. The withdrawal
will be effective on June 7th. |

to resume flights in the country |
| Aerolineas Argentinas
is likely to resume its operations
in the country soon. Likewise,
two airlines -formed with Paraguayan
capital- are processing their
license. These airlines plan to
start operations in the next months. |

| Marta Suplicy
was appointed Minister for Tourism.
Suplicy took up her new post in
replacement of Walfrido Mares

| OceanAir announces
flights to Mexico and Africa |
| OceanAir was authorized
to fly to Mexico and Africa. The
airline is waiting the arrival
of aircrafts in order to start
operations from May to Mexico
with seven weekly frequencies.
Also in May, OceanAir plans to
start to fly to Lagos, the main
city of Nigeria, and to Luanda,
capital of Angola. The company
is processing the relevant authorization
to fly to Los Angeles (USA), which
will operate with Avianca. |

| LAN received new
long range B-767/300 |
| LAN received
a new Boeing 767/300 for passengers
which will be part of its long-range
fleet of operations in Latin America,
to and from the United States,
Mexico, the Caribbean and Tahiti,
among other destinations. Between
2006 and 2008, LAN plans to add
13 Boeing 767/300 to the 32 320-A,
319-A and 318-A existing aircrafts.
Thus, with an investment of US$
2,000 million, it will have 45
aircrafts. |
| Sky Airline surpassed
passenger traffic record |
| The airline grew
by more than 12% in the December
2006 – February 2007 quarter,
surpassing the mark of 55,000
passengers in January, in relation
to same month of last year for
domestic routes in Chile. |
| Sol Melia inaugurates
its first hotel in Chile |
| Sol Melia opened
its first hotel in Chile, located
in Puerto Varas, Patagonia. The
hotel has 91 rooms, two contemporary
cuisine restaurants with a capacity
for more than one hundred people
and a conference center with four
rooms and a capacity of up to
one thousand people. The chain
plans to open new facilities in
Santiago, Iquique, Antofagasta
and Concepcion. |

| LAN Peru will
fly to Bolivia |
| The Superintendence
of Transport announced that starting
from April 4th, LAN Peru will
perform direct flights to Lima.
Meanwhile, Taca will extend its
services starting from April 15th
with direct flights to the Peruvian
capital departing from Santa Cruz.
Likewise, a new Bolivian company,
Sudamericana, will start to operate
around the middle of this year. |

| Voting for Machu
Picchu to be one of the New Seven
Wonders of the World will be promoted
in the European Union (EU). The
campaign will have the support
of the ambassador of Peru in Germany. |

visitors from Chile, Ecuador and
Brasil |
| Gastronomic tourism
has become more relevant and attracts
visitors from Chile, Ecuador and
Brasil. There are tourists who
visit Peru exclusively to enjoy
its gastronomic variety. Cusco,
Arequipa and Puerto Maldonado
are the most preferred places
to enjoy gastronomic tourism. |
| Commercial aviation
agreement reduces frequencies
of LAN |
| The fifth freedom
frequencies granted to Chile will
be reduced from 14 to 8 this year
and will be increased to 11 in
2008 and to 14 in 2009. The agreement,
which will affect the frequencies
operated by LAN from Chile to
New York and Los Angeles with
a stopover in Lima, will be in
force on June 1st. |

| Aerolineas Argentinas
will increase itineraries with
the routes Buenos Aires-Lima and/or
Mexico-Lima-Buenos Aires. The
number of frequencies will total
11 weekly flights. |

more frequencies in South America |
| Taca announced
the creation of a counter hub
which will allow the sector to
be more dynamic and to incorporate
68 new weekly flights starting
from April 15th. Flights will
be increased from 156 to 224 per
week to Bogota, Buenos Aires,
Sao Paulo and Caracas with seven
additional flights each one, while
Quito will have six additional
flights. |

boutique-hotels is inaugurated
|
| The Boutique Hotels
& Lodges chain recently incorporated
Casa San Blas Boutique Hotel and
Urubamba Boutique Lodge. The historic
house of Francisca Pizarro will
also be incorporated, thus becoming
the third boutique lodge of the
chain. |

| FITE 2007 expects
80,000 visitors this year |
| The Fifth International
Fair of Tourism, FITE 2007, will
be held in Guayaquil from September
6th to September 9th. This event
will enable an international meeting
to promote the attractions and
offers of tourist operators from
the entire world. This year, the
fair named “Your best business”
will have China as special guest.
The event will have the participation
of 350 exhibitors from 45 countries
of the five continents. The arrival
of 80,000 national and foreign
visitors is expected. |

| Expects the arrival
of 2.5 million tourists |
| The Hotel Association
of Colombia declared that in 2007
they expect the arrival of 2’500,000
tourists, 18% more than in 2006.
Such a positive forecast is based
on the good results of the two
and a half first months of this
year. High levels of hotel reservations
and great expectations for new
businesses, investments, theme
parks and destinations for vacationers
and businessmen have been reported. |

| Conviasa formalizes
commercial agreements with three
airlines |
| This month, Conviasa
entered into three commercial
agreements with Cubana de Aviacion
(Cuba), Avianca (Colombia) and
LAB (Bolivia), through which it
extends the offer of services
for Latin American Citizens. The
three new agreements came into
force on March 26th and imply
the acceptance of Conviasa’s
tickets in domestic and international
flights. |

will be built in Taboga |
| The mayor of
Taboga announced the construction
of a 400-room hotel. It will be
one of the projects aimed at promoting
and strengthening tourism in the
country. |

will be invested in the construction

| Carnival will
invest US$ 50 million in the construction
and operation of a port terminal
in the Atlantic island of Roatan.
The construction of the terminal,
which will be named Mahogany Bay
Roatan, will start at the end
of the year and will finish in
2009. |

by tourism |
| The Secretary
of Tourism of Mexico calculated
that the income generated by tourism
may reach this year US$ 13,000
million, 10% more than in 2006.
The income generated by tourism
had an increase of 19.3% in January
in relation to same period of

| Hotetur acquires
luxury resort Gran Esmeralda |
| Hotetur, belonging
to the Marsans group holding company,
acquired the real estate of the
luxury resort Grand Esmeralda,
which was owned to date by the
Gala chain. The facility will
be part of the Blue Bay portfolio,
to which the 4 and 5 star-hotels
of the chain belong. The hotel
will be named Blue Bay Esmeralda. |
