MICE Argentina will be held in November
The Organizing Committee of MICE Argentina confirmed that upon suggestion of exhibitors, the event will be held on November 7th and 8th. The 2nd International Exhibition of Motivational Resources, Corporate and Incentive Travels will have the Costa Salguero Center as venue.
Philharmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires starts winter season
The season of five extraordinary concerts, which will be performed at the San Martin Theater in June and July, presents an innovative program, with theme concerts and little known works of well-known composers.
Flights to Ushuaia increased starting from July
In mid July, the number of flights arriving to Ushuaia will increase. In this sense, a conjoint operation between the Ushuaia Development Agency and Aerolineas Argentinas will be carried out.
Hilton Hotel will be remodeled
The Hilton Buenos Aires hotel announced an investment of US$ 7 million in the remodeling of its 417 rooms. Most of the investment will be aimed at the renewal of its executive floors and luxury rooms.

Ten Rivers & Ten Lakes add a new hotel
A new hotel was added to the Boutique and Lodges, Ten Rivers & Ten Lakes hotel chain. Gurda Tango & Winery Hotel, in San Telmo, has seven rooms which themes are: Tango, San Telmo, Riding, Jorge Luis Borges, Patagonia, Malbec and a room which evokes the South.

New frequencies of Pluna to Madrid
Soon, Pluna will operate four weekly round trip frequencies to Madrid. Only one of the weekly frequencies will have a stopover in Rio de Janeiro.
TAM will unite Miami and Rio
TAM will carry out direct flights between Rio de Janeiro and Miami. Although there is not a defined date for the beginning of flights, they are planned to start on the second half of this year.
GOL will have a Boeing 767-300ER for long flights
EuroAtlantic airways and GOL entered into an agreement so that this latter may use a Boeing 767-300ER for long distance flights.
LAN started direct operations to New York and Los Angeles
LAN started to operate directly from Santiago to New York and Los Angeles. It will offer three non stop flights per week between Santiago and New York, which will be added to the six frequencies on the route Santiago-Lima-New York. In the case of Los Angeles, LAN will operate five weekly direct flights from Santiago, which will be added to the two that will operate the route Santiago-Lima-Los Angeles. LAN will operate direct to New York on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and, in the case of Los Angeles, non stop flights will depart from Santiago on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Sky Airline entered into an agreement with Avianca
Avianca and Sky Airline entered into a commercial agreement which allows passengers to arrive to more destinations in Chile and Colombia.
A 100% salt-made golf course
The first and unique 100% salt-made golf course in the world is being built at 3693 meters above sea level, in the surroundings of the famous Palacio de Sal, chosen among the most unusual of the world, at the shores of the Uyuni Salt Flat, and catalogued by the Rough Rides magazine as the first tourist marvel of the world.

BIT Peru 2007 – Luxury Collection & Incentives
The objective of this edition of BITPeru - 7th. LatinAmerican Travel Trade Mart - is to facilitate commercial trade between Peruvian and Iberoamerican wholesalers and national and international buyers so as to encourage the tourism growth in the region. This Latin American Travel Trade Mart also intends to encourage sharing experiences, products and services by means of seminars on destinations that will help generate greater sales. New Brasil-Peru tourist route
The Brasilian company Rio Branco Aereo Taxi will start a new flight route, with which the state of Acre, in Brasil, will be united with the region of Puerto Maldonado, in Peru. There will be two weekly flights (Monday and Friday).

Tourism tax will be charged
The Government approved the collection of a tourism tax, which will be paid by foreigners who enter to the country by air in regular flights, in accordance with the new Tourism Law. The law establishes the payment of US$ 5, or its equivalent in Colombian pesos, which will be paid by foreigners during the remaining of 2007 and during all 2008. This rate will have to be included in the air tickets corresponding to regular flights to Colombia.
“The Yellow Train” starts the 'Route of Macondo'
The arrival of the ‘Yellow Train ' with Gabriel Garcia Marquez, as one of its passengers, to Aracataca, his native town, in the north of Colombia, marked the beginning of the tourist project the 'route of Macondo'. The dream of uniting Santa Maria and the localities on the road to Aracataca again, along less than 70 kilometers, aims at converting the route in a tourist corridor.
Avianca will buy up to 70 Airbus aircrafts
Avianca commissioned up to 70 Airbus aircrafts. The airline made a standing order for 38 aircrafts, including 33 A319/A320 aircrafts, and options for other 32 aircrafts.
DoubleTree grows
Hilton Hotels Corporation entered into a management agreement with Enjoy Group and Caribbean Property, owners of the hotels Fiesta Premier in Papagayo Gulf and Fiesta Resort in Puntarenas. The agreement will be effective starting from December 2007, when Hilton starts to operate such properties as the first Hilton and Doubletree Resorts in Costa Rica.
Hotel where French builders of the Channel stayed is being restored
The hotel where the French builders who started the construction of the Channel of Panama stayed will be rebuilt and restored by the Spanish Group AB Hoteles of Barcelona. The old complex of the Central Hotel, located in the historical neighborhood of San Felipe, in the old part of the Capital, will be transformed into a 140 room hotel, which will have a social area, convention center and Spa.
Nine congress palaces will be built in the next two years
In the next two years, the construction and implementation of at least nine projects for exhibition and convention centers will be carried out in the inner country interior, which will contribute to consolidate and diversify its tourist offer in this area.

Marriott International opens new hotel in Tijuana
Marriott International added a 209 room hotel in Tijuana, Mexico, to its portfolio. This hotel, which currently operates under the Hoteles Emporio brand of the Diaz Group, was recently submitted to a rigorous process of renewal and has been named as Tijuana Marriott Hotel.
Hotel boutique with history in Puebla
A water purifying factory dating from 1884 has become a luxury hotel boutique, which offers a new option for the visitors in the city of Puebla. The place is named La Purificadora and belongs to Habita group.
Cap Cana will be the venue for PGA Champions Tour 2008
PGA Champions Tour and Cap Cana announced that the golf course Punta Espada, belonging to the firm and design of Jack Nicklaus, in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, will be the venue for the next golf tournament "Champions Tour”, in the spring of 2008.
