– Luxury Collection &
Incentives |
| The objective
of this edition of BITPeru -
7th. LatinAmerican Travel Trade
Mart - is to facilitate commercial
trade between Peruvian and Iberoamerican
wholesalers and national and
international buyers so as to
encourage the tourism growth
in the region. This Latin American
Travel Trade Mart also intends
to encourage sharing experiences,
products and services by means
of seminars on destinations
that will help generate greater
sales. This will be the first
South American event oriented
to promte luxury and incentives
travels. BIT Peru 2007 will
be held at the JW Marriott Hotel
Lima on September 17th and 18th.

| The Brasilian
company Rio Branco Aereo Taxi
will start a new flight route,
with which the state of Acre,
in Brasil, will be united with
the region of Puerto Maldonado,
in Peru. There will be two weekly
flights (Monday and Friday).

be charged |
| The Government
approved the collection of a tourism
tax, which will be paid by foreigners
who enter to the country by air
in regular flights, in accordance
with the new Tourism Law. The
law establishes the payment of
US$ 5, or its equivalent in Colombian
pesos, which will be paid by foreigners
during the remaining of 2007 and
during all 2008. This rate will
have to be included in the air
tickets corresponding to regular
flights to Colombia. |

the ‘Yellow Train ' with
Gabriel Garcia Marquez, as one
of its passengers, to Aracataca,
his native town, in the north
of Colombia, marked the beginning

of Macondo'. The dream of uniting
Santa Maria and the localities
on the road to Aracataca again,
along less than 70 kilometers,
aims at converting the route in
a tourist corridor. |
