Pluna will buy 15 Canadian aircrafts |
The Leadgate consortium, the main shareholder of Pluna, announced the purchase of 15 Canadian aircrafts that will be operative next year. Pluna will have four weekly flights to Madrid, three of them direct and one with a stopover at Rio de Janeiro. |
American Airlines begins direct flight Miami-Montevideo |
American Airlines began its first direct flight between Montevideo and Miami. This flight consists of three weekly frequencies; Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. |

LAN extends offer to Chile in winter |
LAN’s weekly offer of 35 flights from Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to Santiago of Chile, via LAN, will be extended from July 1st to August 31st with six additional flights. |

| Swiss Atlantic will give US$ 6 million to LAB |
The President of the Swiss Transatlantic Corp company will enter into a “joint venture” or shared risk agreement with the employees and the Board of Directors of LAB, which will allow the reactivation of the Bolivian company with an initial investment of more than US$ 6 million. The subscription of the contract is subject to the transference of 50% of the property shares of the airline that are at present being held by the employees. |
European company makes final offer to LAB |
LAB received the final salvage offer from a company of European capitals that negotiated with the airline in parallel to Swill Transatlantic Corp. The Helitel.Com-AirConsulting society showed interest in investing in LAB for operating of routes especially to Europe, but with other conditions and under a different concept to that proposed by Swiss Transatlantic. |

The inclusion of the Galapagos Islands in the list of World Heritage Sites in Danger of the UNESCO will be useful to correct errors and existing problems in the archipelago, the Minister of Tourism of Ecuador declared. He also pointed out that this inclusion, decided on in the New Zealand town of Christchurch by the World Heritage Committee of the UNESCO, does not imply withdrawing the status of Galapagos Islands as a Natural Heritage Site of the World. |
