| Ushuaia, among
the three favorite destinations
for foreign tourists |
| Ushuaia ranks
third among the favorite destinations
for foreign tourists, along with
Calafate and Bariloche, and after
Buenos Aires and Iguazu. This
information was provided by the
National Secretariat of Tourism,
which also stated that in 2006
the sector obtained US$ 3.7million
of foreign currency. |
| Air Comet will
start to fly to Buenos Aires on
February 4th |
| On February 4th,
Air Comet will inaugurate its
route Madrid-Buenos Aires. Initially,
it will only have two weekly flights
with A-340 aircrafts which will
arrive on Sundays and Tuesdays,
in order to depart from Buenos
Aires on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Not only the name on the fuselage
will change - Air Plus Comet for
Air Comet – but also the
design, since the logotype as
well as the company’s aircrafts
will show green and blue colors.

| Will Gol expand? |
| Gol may be considering
an "outstanding" development
strategy: setting up a branch
in Argentina. Following the example
of LAN, Gol is studying the possibility
to enter into Argentina to operate
domestic routes. However, the
specialists acknowledge that the
studies are just in embryonic
stage. |
| Buenos Aires will
have a new streetcar |
| Starting from
March, the Eastern Streetcar will
pass through Puerto Madero. It
will have two intermediate stops
all along its route, in the intersection
of Belgrano and Corrientes avenues.
These are two formations with
five cars each, with capacity
for 300 passengers. |

| New Flagship Airline
will start to operate |
| “Regional
Paraguaya”, a new flagship
airline, plans to enter into the
market in March. Paraguaya will
have two aircrafts which would
cover, in the beginning, the route
Asunción-Buenos Aires.
It is possible that this offer
will expand to other destinations
of the MERCOSUR. It is also expected
to fly to Madrid, the Caribbean
and the United States. |

| Varig loses routes |
| Varig lost its
licenses to operate 119 of the
270 domestic routes, the ANAC
stated. The ANAC also stated that
Varig was only able to operate
151 until January 14th, after
re-launching its operation on
December 15th. |

Sur may fly to Buenos Aires and
Lima |
| The new CEO of
Aerolineas del Sur informed that
the company plans to expand its
services to Buenos Aires and Lima
before the end of June 2007. Thus,
Aerolineas del Sur would join
to Sky Airline, which also expects
to work in those markets during
this year. |

One million of visitors per year
with new tourism law |
|
Decision
on visa for Americans postponed
|
| Last week an
analysis to modify the law for
the Development and Promotion
of the Tourist Activity was carried
out. This analysis is aimed at
attracting one million of foreign
visitors per year. This new law
looks for the the inclusion of
indigenous peoples and the creation
of a fund for tourism development. |
The government
will delay until March the demand
of a visa for American citizens
who want to visit Bolivia. The
Foreign Affairs minister justified
the delay of the measure due
to the need to dully train the
consulate’s personnel. |

| Inca Trail under
maintenance from February 1st
|
| The INC Cusco
and Inrena are ready to initiate
the maintenance of the Inca Trail
Network starting from February
1st. Therefore, the tourist circuit
will be suspended along the 70
kilometers of its route during
this month. |
| Virgen de la Candelaria
Feast |
| From February
2nd to 15th, Puno celebrates the
Virgen de la Candelaria Feast
with more than 25,000 musicians
and dancers in a great parade
of color, lights and beautiful
dances. On these days, the city
of Puno becomes the folkloric
capital of the Americas. |
| Domestic flights
will be requested to Gol |
| After starting
flights to Peru, Gol may carry
out domestic flights in Peru,
the Transportation and Communications
Minister declared. Gol will start
its flight Sao Paulo-Lima on February
12th, while its flight Lima-Santiago
de Chile-Buenos Aires will start
on February 14th. |
| KLM with direct
flights and larger aircrafts |
| KLM will flight
directly to Peru with new and
larger aircrafts. KLM currently
flies from Amsterdam to Lima with
a stopover in Bonaire. From March
25th, it will operate with direct
round flights, six times per week
– except on Mondays –
with a Boeing 777-200ER. Additionally,
Air Comet will increase its flights
to Lima, after an agreement with
the Spanish government to assume
the flights left by Air Madrid
after its closure. |

| Air Comet speeds
up authorization arrangements
to fly to Quito and Guayaquil |
| Air Comet requested
the assistance of the Administration
to intervene in the negotiations
with Ecuador in order to speed
up the required authorizations
to fly to Quito and Guayaquil
and to solve the problem of the
Air Madrid passengers. The existing
problem is the lack of a licence
to fly to Ecuador, as well as
to Chile, and that these should
be agreed between both countries.
A similar situation exists for
Panama and Costa Rica, in which
a licence through the Executive
power must be processed. |

order to build a modern building
to support the traffic of 100

Lufthansa will provide free passes

prices due to energy cost |
| The hotel sector,
which will undergo an increase
up to 12% of the electricity cost
during the next week, evaluates
the possibility to transfer this
increase to users. The decision
could increase the price of the
rooms in the hotels of the city
in a similar percentage, although
the exact amount has not been

will fly to Florida from April
5th |
| Spirit Airlines
announced flights between the
Juan Santamaria airport (Costa
Rica) and the terminal of Fort
Lauderdale, in Florida, starting
from April 5. The company will
fly on Mondays, Thursdays and
Saturdays. By late April, there
will be five flights per week. |
