Cruceros executives announced
the arrival of three ships in
the region for this summer. Costa
Victoria in Argentina, Costa Magica
in Brasil and Costa Classica alternating
between both countries, will be
the main stars of what the company
calls “The Diamond Season
2007-2008”. This will represent
50% more activity in relation
to this summer. |

Aires increasingly attracts gay
tourism. This year, the first
five-star hotel in the continent
for the gay community was inaugurated
in the capital. According to unofficial
estimations gay tourism represents
20% of the visitors the city receives. |
Lan Argentina
wants to close 2007 with 50% more
in the offer of routes and new
destinations. This plan includes
adopting some aspects of the low
cost model, system which is competing
with giant airlines in the region. |

The general manager of Destination
Mana-gement Chile (DMC) –
company which attends 70% of the
cruise passengers that arrive
in Chile- explained that in recent
years almost 20 cruise companies
from the entire world arrived
in the country. In the 2005-2006
season, DMC registered 120 arrivals
and 19 boardings of passengers.
For this season, the company expects
to receive 126 arrivals, which
implies an increase of 5%. |
The new CEO
of the company assured that
Aerolineas del Sur will fly
to Buenos Aires and Lima before
the first four months of the
year.“We want to grow
by 25% in passenger transportation
compared to 2006, to reach an
occupation rate of 71%. We are
not only looking for consolidation,
but we want to make this company
something different, an outstanding
service” he declared. |

| AeroSur presented
its new Boeing 737-200 which will
reinforce its services in the
routes Santa Cruz-Buenos Aires

Madrid and Miami. |

scenario for the achievement of
business projects and signing
of agreements to be developed

passengers arrived in the Airport
of Cartagena from domestic destinations
and 86,370 from international
destinations. That same year,
several cruise lines arrived to
the city with 42,024 passengers.

zone in the west of Colombia received
220,000 tourists during this year
