Tourist route from seaside to wine
countryside
A tourist route
will join Mendoza’s first wine producing
area with northern Chilean beaches.
The Tourist Route from Seaside to
Wine Countryside promoted by the Chilean
communities of Maipu and Papudo and
by the Ministry of Economy of Mendoza
has an extension of 382 kilometers.
It will join Mendoza’s wine geography
with northern Chile’s cultural heritage,
beaches and gastronomy. Among other
routes, visitors will have the chance
to visit 26 wine cellars in addition
to the highly attractive Chilean olive-producing
proposal. |

Reopening of the Mar del Plata
Aquarium
Four years after
it was closed, Mar del Plata has recovered
one of its most important attraction
centers: the Mar de Plata Aquarium,
a theme amusement park for the entire
family. The new season offers fresh
attractions: swimming underwater in
a tank with 3-meter long sharks, as
well as swimming underwater with more
than 1,500 fish of twenty different
breeds in specially conditioned tanks. |

The airline informed

directly from Santiago to Pucon in southern

Tourist departure tax rises to
Bs 176
As of January 1st,
the Impuesto a las Salidas al Exterior
(ISAE) (Tourist Departure Tax) will be
176 bolivianos, which implies an increase
of 7 bolivianos. The ISAE sticker sale
shall be made exclusively at the National
Taxing Service offices in airports throughout
the country. |

Music Recitals at Cusco’s historical
monuments
Yesterday,
the series of daily
music recitals began
at different historical
monuments in Cusco.
The city will offer
its visitors and locals
a varied artistic cultural
show that will delight
and enlighten them on

heritage. Barroque music
from Cusco, sacred music
in Quechua, Gregorian
chants and classical
music as well as plays,
folklore and other artistic
expressions will be
staged. The only admission

Gol will fly to Lima in the second
quarter of 2007
Beginning
the second quarter of
the year, Gol will open
the Santiago de Chile
– Lima – Mexico route.
At the end of last August,
the airline company
received authorization
from its country’s ANAC
(National Civil Aviation
Association) to operate
seven flights per week
to Lima. |

Taca and Livingston will join Italy
with El Salvador
Livingston and Taca
reached an agreement to operate direct
flights between Italy and El Salvador
starting in May. This agreement will help
increase the tourist flow between Europe
and Central America. There will be a weekly
direct flight between Milan and the airport
of El Salvador. On its return flight to
Italy, the plane will make a brief stopover
in Cancun. |

Promotes ecological and adventure
tourism
The Dominican Republic
started a rehabilitation and construction
program of domestic airfields in Jimani,
Constanza, Pedernales, San Juan de la
Maguana, Montecristi and La Cueva de las
Maravillas (San Pedro de Macoris). The
purpose is to promote ecological and adventure
tourism among the nearly four million
tourists that visit the Dominican Republic
each year. The Dominican Republic is one
of the few countries that have nine differentiated
ecological areas. |

New air links to Cayo Largo del
Sur
Cubana de Aviacion
will start operating special flights to
Cayo Largo del Sur in January and February.
In addition, the airline is promoting
