South African Airways reschedules flights
GOL’s proSouth African Airways is currently restructuring its routes, so it is reviewing its current destination network as well as the destinations announced to be operated. The planned flights to Buenos Aires have been postponed, however, in order to improve the connectivity from Buenos Aires, SAA will add three weekly flights from Sao Paulo to Johannesburg.
LAN adds more cabotage flights
LAN Argentina will start to operate the Buenos Aires-Puerto Madryn-Ushuaia route with three weekly flights. With the new flight – that will be performed by an Airbus A320 – the airline pretends to face up the strong demand of international tourists who visit the south of the country.
More flights to countryside
Aerolineas Argentinas announced the incorporation of new frequencies in the routes to Neuquen, Salta and Tucuman. The greatest increase will be on the flights to Salta, which will pass from 20 to 27 weekly frequencies, while in the case of Neuquen four flights will be added (until reaching 27 frequencies). In the case of Tucuman, five flights will be added, passing from 25 to 32 weekly flights.
Air Europa started flights to Buenos Aires
Air Europa started to operate its new route from Madrid to Buenos Aires with five weekly frequencies, the company announced. Air Europa operates the new route with an Airbus 330-200 with a capacity for 299 passengers.
Alan Faena will open another hotel in Puerto Madero
Alan Faena will inaugurate in 2010 a new hotel in Puerto Madero. The construction works will start in the next months. The new facility will have 150 guest rooms. The investment sums up to US$ 300 million dollars.
TAM started flights from Sao Paulo to Cordoba
TAM started to fly from Sao Paulo to Cordoba (Argentina), in order to satisfy the increasing demand in this route.
LAN starts low cost operation on April 9th
The new “low cost” operation of LAN will start on April 9th. The goal is to expand the market and thus to increase the number of passengers by 50% in the next years. The restructuring plan of LAN foresees the increase of frequencies and itineraries in the country, the elimination of catering services and the provision of snacks in domestic flights.
LAB suspends flights to Spain   Construction of floating hotel Inti Uma will conclude in February 2008
LAB decided to suspend all its flights to Madrid due to its lack of operative capacity and requested the hundreds of passengers who were affected to carry out the corresponding procedures with the travel agencies in order to recover their money, a spokesperson of the company declared. There is no specific information that states if the airline will resume the flights to Spain or if the cancellation is definitive. The floating hotel Inti Uma (Water Sun) will be built on the Titicaca Lake with a loan of of US$ 140 thousand, the commercial manager of Air Globel Bol announced. The hotel will be 30 meters long and 14 meters wide, with a capacity for 130 people, restaurants and a pool.
Has 47 handicrafts tourist circuits
Peru has 47 handicrafts tourist circuits along its territory, the National Director of Handicrafts announced. She also highlighted the handicraft neighborhood of San Blas and textile route of the Urubamba Valley, both in Cusco. The Ayacucho and Junin circuit is also important.
KLM flies from Lima to Amsterdam without stopovers
Last Sunday, KLM inaugurated its new nonstop flight Lima – Amsterdam – Lima. The airline flies six weekly frequencies with Boeing 777 aircrafts, with a capacity for 327 passengers. The seventh frequency of the route will be inaugurated in December, and two flights are planned to be operated subsequently.
Delta will increase frequency of flights between Lima and Atlanta
Delta announced the beginning of a new frequency that will operate three times per week between Lima and Atlanta starting from June 15th. This new flight will operate until August 19th.

Taca increased frequencies   New Convention Center in Guayaquil
Taca increased frequencies in Ecuador, thus reaching 24 weekly flights, besides implementing more flexible schedules and direct flights. The airline also inaugurated its new route to Santo Domingo, via San Jose. The old Simon Bolivar airport of Guayaquil will become a convention and exhibitions center. To this respect, the manager of ExpoGuayaquil highlighted that the best center of this type in Latin America is being constructed in Guayaquil. It has an area of 25 thousand m2.
Avianca purchases 10 Boeing 787 aircrafts for US$ 1,500 million   Cartagena and Panama united by AeroRepublica
During the introduction of its fleet, the president of Avianca announced the purchase of 10 more aircrafts of the same type. The acquisition of Airbus aircrafts will be announced soon. Starting from March 31st, AeroRepublica re-launches its route between Cartagena and Panama. The flights are scheduled for Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 08:00 hrs. (Cartagena-Panama)
Lufthansa operates additional flights from Caracas to Frankfurt
Lufthansa has changed its schedule and flights between Caracas and Frankfurt. This new option will be a great advantage for the airline passengers, since it includes two new weekly flights between Maiquetia and Frankfurt.
First hotel specialized in health tourism inaugurated
The Paradise Cosmetic Inn Hotel, the first in Latin America specialized in health tourism, was inaugurated. The hotel, which has nurses and staff trained to take care of patients 24 hours per day, has 32 rooms and facilities for postoperative period.
Will make visa application procedure easier for investors
The President announced that its government will reduce the visa procedures for foreign businesspeople and tourists in order to attract more investments to the country. Starting from May 1st the visa application procedure will be reduced from one month to 12 days.
