“Punta del Este” stands out in the nautical cities circuit |
Marbella and Punta del Este promote the creation of a nautical circuit that brings together 10 of the principal world tourist destinations which are characterized by having an intense water sport activity. Municipal authorities from Uruguay included the ten top cities of the world, as to tourist destination and as nautical tourism destination, in the international circuit. Besides these cities, they proposed to include Miami. Likewise, Dubai would be on the list. Later on, a city from China, Greece, Italy, France and Germany, having these characteristics will be added. |

In the Right Whales Environmental Protection Area at Praia do Rosa (Santa Catarina), everything is ready to receive visitors since July 19, when the 2009 Whale Observation Season starts. The municipal government, businessmen, hotel owners and the whole local community are again confident that tourists will choose them to practice this kind of sustainable tourism that is growing year by year and that, besides promoting local Economy, helps to create environmental awareness among visitors. |
| Gol plans to fly to the Caribbean |
Gol is studying the possibility of starting flights to the Caribbean and is therefore waiting for the respective authorizations to fly to Aruba and Dominican Republic, what represents an important change in their South America routes net. Recently, they suspended their flights between Santiago and Lima; in June flights between Sao Paulo and Bogotá changed from daily and direct to four weekly frequencies with scale in Manaos. As to flights between Sao Paulo and Santiago, the airline reduced their seven weekly flights offer to two on Saturdays and Sundays, but keeping their daily frequencies with scale in Buenos Aires. |

SBA Airlines postpones flight to Panama |
For operative, commercial and technical type reasons, the first flight of SBA Airlines was postponed for August 1st. Due to the high demand of travelers to Panama and within a growth plan, the airline will open a route Panama-Caracas-Panama in a 757 Boeing with capacity for 178 passengers. There will be two daily frequencies, excepting on Saturdays with only one flight. |

Panama National Geographical Institute is making the first interactive map for whales sighting in Latin America. The purpose is to order investigations and contribute to preserve these mammals. The Maya Riviera Small Hotels Guide book includes a short description of 92 accommodation centers at Playa del Carmen, Akumal and Tulum, as well as its location and contacts data. Before ending the third quarter of the year, Airports and auxiliary Services and the Government of Chiapas will start building a new Airport in Palenque, which will substitute the airfield which is practically abandoned: In 2008 only 2011 passengers were transported.
